    Performs setup and operation of various machine tools in order to accomplish production machinery functions.

    Essential duties and responsibilities:

    -Use milling, drilling, grinding, and boring machines to support production.
    -Interpret sketches, blueprints, and engineering details.
    -Provide assistance in establishing set up and layout methods, order of operations, and application of required parts and materials.
    -Knowledge of standard safety, environmental, and health practices relating to machining operations.
    -Maintain work area and equipment in a safe, orderly manner.
    -Research and interpret technical instructions, bulletins and FAA directives.
    -Perform work to manufacturer, FAA, and company regulations and quality standards.
    -Complete records as required by company and FAA regulations.
    -Other duties as assigned.

    Education and-or experience:

    One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and-or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language skills:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Physical requirements:

    Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. May require bending, reaching, kneeling. Must be able to lift 3-50 lbs.

    Mathematical skills:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

    Reasoning ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


    Basic proficiency in researching overhaul manuals, and basic computer literacy.
